If you are evaluating programs for anesthesiology residency I invite you to further explore our medical center. In this past year, The Ohio State University preformed approximately 40,000 surgical procedures. With such a large surgical volume we boast both a full range of operative procedures and a tremendous depth of experience. During your training here, you will be exposed to every type of surgical procedure from the most simple to the most complex. Our curriculum in resident education extends well beyond the operating room. We have a full didactic calendar, mock oral examinations, patient simulation and resident research opportunities. Our residency program is competitive and we draw the very best candidates from the region, the state and the country.

Potential clinical faculty members and primary researchers will find a home in which academic professional development is encouraged. All of us in the department are committed to excellence in patient care combined with a rich academic environment. All faculty are actively engaged in resident education. We offer tremendous opportunity for Nurse Anesthetists. Currently we employ approximately 45 nurse anesthetists. Our CRNAs provide outstanding clinical care and support for our overall academic mission. Our case load is rich with variety and complexity. Our compensation package is among the most competitive. Professional career development for our CRNAs is a priority.
