Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State UniversityThe Department of Anesthesiology at Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University offers an intensive postgraduate training program. Educational programs and innovative research, in the midst of an exciting clinical atmosphere, provide postgraduate trainees with unique and unparalled opportunities. Cooperative efforts with other hospitals within the patient care services of Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center complement the department’s comprehensive approach to patient care, research and education.

A stimulating mix of diverse clinical training and didactic lectures are provided to train residents in all levels throughout their training. Facilities are connected to state-of-the-art research facilities and provide an environment conducive to a career in research. All CA-1 residents participate in a one-week introduction to research rotation. This rotation provides a basic understanding of the process of scientific inquiry and provides an excellent foundation for those residents who are interested in the clinical scientist track in the CA-3 year.

The department also offers clinical fellowships in ambulatory anesthesiology/businesscardiothoracic anesthesiology, critical care anesthesiology, neuroanesthesia, obstetric anesthesiology, pain medicine, and regional anesthesiology. In addition, Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center sponsors a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
