The Ohio State University Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the OSU Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine Fellowship!  Our department opened the first Surgical Intensive Care Unit in 1979. Since that time, critical care has grown into one of the largest divisions in the anesthesiology department. Our faculty care for a complex and diverse patient population and serve as leaders throughout the medical center.  All of us are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for our residents and fellows.

In addition to a broad clinical experiences, OSU offers a comprehensive range of didactics, conferences, simulation and other unique learning opportunities.  Training emphasizes leadership during multidisciplinary rounds, teaching other trainees, scholarship and quality improvement.  Both technical and non-technical skills are emphasized.  In addition to the usual ICU procedures, fellows are taught critical care ultrasound, surgical airway skills and how to navigate challenging patient and family interactions. All fellows complete requirements for certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) and prepare for the Critical Care Medicine Certification Exam.

Since OSU is a big place, we encourage our fellows to establish mentoring relationships with faculty to get the most out of their time here.

Please look over the information below, read about some of our faculty and follow us on our Instagram account. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like more information.
